PhD studium
Zájemcům o Ph.D. studium pod mým
vedením mohu vypsat téma, které je obsahově příbuzné oboru, kterému se
věnuji, tj.
- vyhledávání v metrických a
nemetrických prostorech (resp.
podobnostní vyhledávání v multimediálních databázích)
- databázové indexování
"exotických dat" (např.
biologická data, grafy, časové řady, trajektorie, 3D struktury,
apod.)
- multimediální data mining
(extrakce deskriptorů
pro potřeby indexování/vyhledávání, např. z obrázků, zvuku, videa, apod.)
Nabídka aktuálního
tématu:
Similarity Index for Multimedia Exploration Queries in Real Time
The similarity search in multimedia databases is usually realized using
simple similarity queries explicitly triggered by the user. Although fast
response to a similarity query is important, a small waiting time for the
response is mostly tolerated by the user. However, nowadays there appear
modern and more user-friendly means of multimedia retrieval, such as the
multimedia exploration queries. For this kind of retrieval the instant
execution of simple similarity queries is critical, while any noticeable
waiting for the query is unacceptable. The reason for this strict
requirement is the nature of the exploration process that is highly
interactive, including visualization of the multimedia space and the induced
massive triggering of simple similarity queries. Because of the
interactivity, we demand instant execution of the similarity queries, in
order to keep the exploration process fluent and applicable. The goal of
this dissertation thesis is a development of index structure for approximate
similarity search, that guarantees realtime responses of similarity queries
(based on a user-defined realtime threshold, say hundred milliseconds).
